The Best Way To Sculpt Your Abs

There are so many choices for people looking for ab exercise equipment. I am not a big fan of traditional sit-ups or crunches. These exercises tend to be hard on my back and I do not get the in-depth work out that should when I do old-fashioned sit-ups or crunches because my neck usually gets a better workout then my abdominal.

Ab exercise equipment is great to use as it will specifically target your abs and help to isolate the muscle groups such as the rectus abdominus (the flat muscle that runs the length of your abdomen) or the obliques which extend along the sides of your abdomen at an angle. This helps to make your workouts very specific. Performing ab exercises "freestyle" (or without equipment), it is too easy to cheat yourself or take subconscious shortcuts in your workout routine. For instance, it is very easy to lose form while doing crunches. It is also easy to rely on your arms and neck to pull your weight instead of your abdominal muscles. When you rely on your neck and arms to pull your weight you are not accomplishing anything for your abdominal muscles. The ab exercise equipment helps you position yourself comfortably and it helps you work on your target area.

Ab exercise equipment can also be a great motivator for some of us. It is much more appealing to work out on a machine than it is to work out on a floor. This additional motivation is the key to a consistent workout. Consistent workouts lead to results. Buying an ab exercise machine can give you a push in the right direction in your workout program. This alone is worth the purchase.

A couple pieces of exercise equipment that have been proven to provide the best ab exercises are surprisingly simple and economical to obtain. Two that I will mention here are the exercise ball and the ab roller. Exercises performed on the exercise ball not only are great at working your abdominal muscles but also increase core strength as well. If you own an exercise ball, you can also perform many other exercises for your body or simply use it as a chair and work on your core strength. With an ab roller, it makes it very easy to target only your abdominals. Ab rollers also usually have a cushioned headrest which reduces stress on your neck. You are building muscle while working out on the ab exercise machines and since muscle burns more calories, this is a good thing. Consistent workouts on the equipment lead to consistent calorie burning, which leads the loss of fat.

Some argue that ab exercise equipment does nothing to improve your workout. You may be able to achieve the same results with traditional abdominal exercises without any equipment. And for the few die-hard exercise gurus (who I admire greatly) that are focused and consistent, this may be true. For the other 90% of the population, the ab exercise equipment helps you do the exercises correctly. When shopping for ab equipment, you will find that many pieces of equipment also come with videos with specific workouts to do. These videos are usually very motivational and will provide the added incentive most of us need to get started. If you never get started, you never see results.

Dream of Great Abs? Add These Tips To Your Weight Control Plan

How many of people, not just those of us overweight, have dreamed of a "six pack" of abs? How many of you women have dreamed of having a stomach so flat and hard you would bounce a quarter off of it?

Judging by the number of “Rock Hard Abs” books and video’s out there, I’d say most of us dream of those abs!

Truth is, there is no “Silver Bullet” or “Magic Pill” for those kind of abs. It takes hard work and the right nutrition to produce abs that will turn heads.

Here are a few quick tips you can concentrate on while working your midsection out.

Don’t forget breakfast:

Why so many people skip breakfast is a puzzling to me. A good breakfast will help jumpstart your metabolism and give you energy to attack the day. Ramp up your metabolism to help burn all fat, not just the fat around your midsection. Go easy on the carbs such as breads and cereals. Mix your carbs with a good source of protein, you’re abs are growing muscles and muscles need protein.

Mind you Mother, Eat your Fruits and Vegetables!

Fruits and Vegetables such as citrus fruits and green vegetables such as broccoli have huge amounts of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is just one of the many helpful vitamins that you’ll get from fruits and vegetables. Vitamin C has been shown to help muscles repair damaged muscle fibers.

Specifically Work That Midsection!

While stretching and balancing routines due help strengthen your abs, you need to develop specific workout routines for your abs. Ask the personal trainer down at your Gym what exercises you can do to help you build up those abs. Some of the ab machines you see on TV actually do work, but you have to get up off the couch and use them. Best to stick to the Gym's free weight attachments until you get committed about chiseling your abs.

Feed the Abs

Small meals throughout the day will keep your metabolism going. Long gone are the days of eating 2 or 3 huge meals. Studies have show that smaller meals with smaller portions keep your metabolism going strong. When your metabolism is high, you feel like working out. Working the abs is the only way you’ll end up with a “six pack”!

Leave the Salt Alone

Salt stores water in your body. There are other negative aspects of too much salt. It’s a good idea to hide the salt shaker as many processed foods are loaded with salt (and sugar). As long as you’re drinking plenty of water and keeping your salt intake down, you body will most likely keep passing the water through your system, not storing it.

Watch the Fat

Let’s face it, we all know our bodies like to store fat at the midsection and on our thighs. You can work out 5 days a week like a banshee, but if your fat intake is through the roof, you can forget about the rock hard abs! Some fat is necessary for our bodies to function properly, just make sure you don’t go overboard. People who have low body fat find it easier to chisel abs (like you didn’t already know that).

The recommendations above are only a starting point if your goal is rock hard abs. The benefits you’ll discover along the way is that these same recommendations will also help you lose bulk in other areas of your body. Training your body to burn fat and build muscle is the first step on your journey to a healthier you. The abs will be a bonus!

Better ABS

Daily 1000s Of Peoples Are Getting 6 Pack Abs From This Method

Ten steps to rock hard abdominals.

Step One
Go to the gym. This is a very important step because if you don't leave your house, chances are you won't make it to the gym. This article is for gym rats that want the six pack. I will talk about home training in another article. So, just get out and join a good gym.

Step two
Start drinking more water. This is a very valuable nutrient that I think most people forget about. At least 8 glass a day and thet will be fine.

Step Three
Make a ab workout with variety. You know that it is the spice of life. It's also the spice of your abs. Make sure you use at lease 6 different exercises for your ab routine. If you don't think you can do that, try 3 different exercises and make them intense, holding the last rep for at least 10 seconds.

Step Four
Man those carbs are killing you. Ok, im not gonna tell you to go out and diet hard but I will tell you to leave the carbs in the evening alone. Try to have a cut off point. You know how much weight you need to lose in order to show your abs. So, if you need to lose 20-30 pounds cut the carbs real early, like 12:00 pm. If you need to lose 5-10 pounds, try cutting your carbs around 3pm. If you really wanna get ripped, try this bodybuilding technique. You can take a day off from carbs. One day on and one day off. This works for many bodybuilders.

Step Five
If you want to have great looking abs you should strive for great flexibility. Stretching adds great symetry to your body. So if you are flexible it will make your waistline appear to be smaller. A tight waste tends to look bulky and thats not nice to look at.

Step Six
If you don't see the results from holding your reps use resistance. You can use a medicine ball with a weight vest. Just get that burn you desire.

Step Seven
Train your abs for feel. In other words if your abs arent burning you aren't doing anything. Make all your workouts feel intense. Thats the only way you will reach your fitness goals.

Step Eight
Get your cardio on. Make sure you do at least 1 hour of cardio every session with at least 4 sessions a week. Make sure your workout is versatile. You will never stick to a boring workout. Try to have at least 4-6 different cardio exercises.

Step Nine
Use a journal. Try to keep track of your progress somehow. Wether its in a journal or just jot them down on a piece of paper. Keeping track of your progress is the best way to reach any goal. It has to be written in order for it to be real.

Step Ten
Have a spiritual escape. Have something that you do everyday that relaxes you such as draw, read, bubble bath with candles, prayer, meditation, collect things, surf the net. What ever really relaxes you, do it at the end of everyday. It will make a difference in your attitude knowing that you have something to really releave your stress when you get home.

With these steps you should be on your way to great abs and good health.

Thank you,
